Re-focus the spotlight!

Covid-19 has impacted the operation of the world and the economy in a way that hasn’t been felt since the Great Depression in 1929, or similarly the Global Financial Crisis in 2007.

Uncertainty lingers in the air with plenty pondering when the current circumstances we are situated with will cease and a sense of normality will return to our lives. The pandemic has caused crushing blows to businesses across the majority of industries and forced most companies to re-evaluate day-to-day operations as well as implementing staffing variations.

With additional time now at businesses and employees disposals, capacity to undertake projects that may have been sitting on the backburner for a while, are now the forefront of attention. The team at JPB firmly believes that now is an opportune time for organisations to re-focus the spotlight on themselves and reflect on their current brand and missions.

A few things we encourage you to keep in mind:

- Unengaging content will do the obvious – have your followers unengaged. If you are posting content just merely for the sake of it and without a clear directive and purpose, then all you are doing is cluttering the feed and driving your viewers to competitor’s sites. Keep it clear and keep it simple – if you don’t have anything meaningful to say then don’t say it!

- Speaking of competitors – review and analyse their content. Observe what they do well and what they leave to be desired. There’s no shame in admitting that you have borrowed content ideas from competitors – healthy competition keeps the game alive!

- Finally – play to your strengths. If you are someone who can express thoughts and ideas creatively by speaking them, then exercise that theory! Don’t fall into the trap of thinking ‘I have to do what the norm is because that’s what trends tells me I should do’. A video blog to camera may be a far more engaging and insightful piece then fumbling your way through a written blog. Play to your strengths and execute them well!
